It's 1992, you're Toni Cipriani, a once trusted wise guy in the Leone family, forced into hiding after killing a made man. Now you're back in Liberty city to gain back what's yours. You fight in the New York based city to take control of drug trafficking, political control, territory, and money. It seems very few people are on your side. Even your own mother calls a hit on you.

It's 1992, and you're Carl Johnson, a gang banger who fled from San Andreas to Liberty City after the gang-related death of his brother, Brian. Five years later, you get a call from your brother, Sweet, asking you to come back home due to your mother's death. You come back to Los Santos, only to run into a long lost "friend", officer Tenpenny. You end up staying in Los Santos, only to find out your Grove Steet Familie's homies, Ryder and Big Smoke, are the ones who killed your mother and are selling you out to Tenpenny. You fight with your sister Kendl's boyfriend Cesar (a leader of a rival gang, the Aztecs), Woozie (the leader of the Triads), Mad Dogg (a rapper you saved from a fatal death), Love Fist members, and your family to get revenge and take control of the streets of the State based on California.

Your girlfriend betrayed you during a bank robbery and you were left for dead. You went to prison only to be "released" by the Columbian Cartel while they were kidnapping another prisoner. Now you're taking revenge. Mob bosses have you do favors, which eventually turn on you as well. It's time to fight back.
